In the Black Sea port system of our country, the major threat to the health, productivity and biodiversity of the marine environment comes from human activities in coastal areas. Approximately 80% of the polluting cargo comes from leaks, from discharges of residues of economic, industrial, agricultural, tourist, urban activities. Coastal areas are economic areas where raw materials and material goods are produced. Pollution of the marine environment, destruction of habitats strongly affects the sustainable use of the seas, influences human health through direct contact of the population with polluted waters or through the consumption of contaminated marine nutrients.
